By using Granger Causality Analysis, the effects of public expenditures on the variables of GDP, enflation and unemployment which refer macroeconomic performance are examined in this study.cording to the results, public expenditures affect GDP and inflation positively within the period of 1988-2006. The causality between public expenditure and GDP is bidirectional. This situation also upports Wagner Law. It appears that there is no relationship between unemployment and public expenditures. As a result it is found that, the public expenditure is important factor which affect the macroeconomic performance in Turkey, thus they need to be considered when forming the macroeconomic policies.en_US
